Start Time: 9:00 am - Waihi Beach Water Reservoir carpark at the top of Pacific Road, Waihi Beach

Discover the remnants of the Waihi Beach section of the Old Wires Track as it came via Waihi Beach and connected telegraphic communication between Auckland and Wellington. The track follows a ridge behind the old dam with lots to see on the way, including a beautiful stand of Rewarewa Trees. At the top a spectacular view reveals itself over the Waihi Plains to Mt Te Aroha and around to Waihi Beach.
Bring food, drink and appropriate shoes. Children of all ages welcomed with parent or guardian.
You MUST register prior to any walk/cycle/kayak/boat trip.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants are responsible for their own safety equipment, food, water, clothing and vehicles.
The Festival is a non-profit event which relies heavily on volunteers, and donations to help pay for the organisation and promotion of the month-long event.
