A walk through Martha mine pit fence

Start Time: 10:00 am - The Martha Mine Entrance, 140 Kenny Street, Waihi, across from the basketball court. Gate open from 9.30am to 9.55am.

OceanaGold is offering a walk inside the Martha mine pit fence, around our perimeter road. Get views of the Martha mine like never before. We will stop off and take a look at some of our local Waihi icons, exiting on the north-western side of the pit rim. We will then return via the popular Pit Rim Walkway, back to the car park. The total distance is about 2 km to 3 km, and we expect it to take about an hour, maybe a little more.
Sturdy shoes are a must, and we will supply Personal protective equipment (PPE) which will add to those all-important photos.
It is a PPE area so we are required for everyone to wear helmets, glasses and high vis. Suitable 12 years and over.
PLEASE NOTE: Address for parking is 140 Kenny Street Waihi, across from the basketball court. The gate will be open from 9.30 am until 9.55 am. It will then be locked from 10 am until completion of the walk.
There are 30 spaces only for this trip so be in quick!
