Start Time: 10:00 am - George Street Carpark, Waihi

Meet at the George St car park by the Gilmour reserve at 10am.
We will take a walk through Gilmour reserve (Tunnellers Memorial/Pike River 29/Miners Rest/development of the park) then a loop around Union Hill taking in the vent shaft, the pachuca tanks, the battery site, Mineral Resources tailings ponds, environmental restoration, going via the Millstream walkway with its various features (Butterfly garden, bamboo grove, Speaks Quarry).
This is a moderate-easy walk with no steep grades. Good walking shoes are essential, and you may want to bring a bottle of water and a camera.
We will finish back at George St carpark.
