Tuhua Mayor Island November 2025

Join us for a challenging adventure on Tuhua/Mayor Island’s rugged terrain. Starting the day with a 2 hour boat trip to the island. This shortened route takes you along part of the crater rim, offering an exhilarating experience as we navigate terrain east along to the Devil’s Staircase and back around ruru pass. This walk is not for the faint hearted as includes root climbing, ladders and could include crawling on hands and knees navigating treelines.
After the walk, there will be free time at the bay to enjoy your packed lunch and a refreshing swim. The boat departs for the mainland at 4:00 p.m.
This trip is very much weather dependent, confirmation will be the Friday 7th November 2025 the day before the trip, based on the weather forecast. If this trip is postponed the backup date is Saturday 15th November 2025.
Restrictions: This trip is limited to 23 spaces, so don’t miss out! 18 years and over, shorter route only.
