Explore the quieter side of Karangahake Gorge on this combined train trip and trek. Discover the Goldfields Railway and follow the Ohinemuri River to the stunning Owharoa Falls through historic goldmining remains at Waikino.
Train tickets $10 return per adult, with 2 children per adult free. Additional children's tickets are $8.

Goldfields Train leaves Waihi Train Station for Waikino, with the choice of returning at either 1pm or 2.30pm. Once at Waikino Station there's an easy 1 to 2 hour return walk along the river and through bush to the waterfall. Pack something to eat and drink, and then casually make your way back to catch the train home.
