Saturday 19 April                Bald Spur Horsemans via 3 Waterfalls

Saturday 19 April                Ohinemuri Winery Tour & Lunch

Tramp to Bald Spur and back by Horseman’s Track to the Te Aroha Domain and take in the many views of the town, TV mast, mine and waterfalls.  Departs 9am from Te Aroha i site.  2.5 hrs.  Medium standard of fitness required.  Your Guide is Colin Hallet

Come and discover Ohinemuri Winery, taste some of the award wining wines and enjoy a relaxing lunch.  Departs 12.30pm from Ohinemuri Winery, Moresby St, Karangahake, Karangahake Tunnel & Windows Loop Walk 1 he, low standard of fitness required.  Lunch at 1.30pm - registrations for lunch are essential through Paeroa Information Centre!  Your guide is Anne Harris

Cancelled due to adverse track conditions.  Other options in and around Whiritoa are: the Karangahake Gorge, the Wentworth Valley tracks, Broken Hills Recreation Area and the Waihi Walkways. Refer to the DoC website or Waihi Information Centre.

 

2hrs, medium/high level of fitness required.  NB  Suitable for teenagers but not children.  Those suffering from vertigo should not do this walk.  Single file most of the way.  Dry walk track: any amount of rain will cause a cancellation.  This walk has been truncated due to previous bad weather preventing further clearing of the track.  Your Guide is Colin Francis.

Saturday 26 April   Whiritoa — Mataora Bay:  Cancelled

See Waihi and the mine pit as you have never seen before.  On a clear day you can see as far as Whakatane.  Steady uphill all the way to a great lunch spot.  Departs 9am from the end of Savage Road, Waihi.  4hrs, medium fitness required.  Take lunch.  Suitable for families & older children.  Your Guide is Colin Francis.
