New Northend Trig Walk

Tuesday, 10 April 2018

Grade 3-4

Nearest Town: Waihi Beach

Registration Region: Waihi Beach

Start Time: 10:00 am - Start at the water reservoir carpark at the top of Pacific Road, Waihi Beach.

Meet at the carpark by the Resevoir at Waihi Beach. This well formed track wends it’s way around the ‘lake’ … you’ll see birds skimming the water, pohutukawa, kowhai, manuka and more. We climb lots of steps with plenty of places to stop and catch your breath if you need to.

The track rises to the top where we take a left turn and walk out to the Trig - what a view! You can see all the way to Mt Edgcombe, Matakana Island, Mt Maunganui and way beyond. It’ s worth the little slog up the hill!
