The Lindemann Pack Track enters the bush and climbs steeply up the ridge westwards – so we are going to head east and take the gentler steady climb winding its way in and out of the bushy gullies until it reaches the top! There are several ruins of old Kauri dams along this walk however little remain of them except for a few logs. These dams that operated in the Wairoa catchment in the Kauri logging days of the early 1900’s. The Ridge Track leads you in a loop back to the road down a steep descent.
